Hat-Trick
A hat-trick is three goals scored by the same player in one match.
three-goal game
Plain definition
A player completes a hat-trick by scoring three goals during the same match. The goals do not need to be consecutive. It is a notable attacking achievement that usually reflects a major influence on the result.
Why it matters
A hat-trick can show a player's ability to convert a large volume of chances or dominate a particular matchup. It may also expose serious defensive weaknesses. The performance deserves attention, but one exceptional match should not be treated as a complete measure of long-term form.
Practical example
A forward scores in the 12th, 54th and 81st minutes. Those three goals in the same match complete a hat-trick.
